2013- A scholarship is the
only way for some students who have weak economic conditions to get their
dreams fulfilled of acquiring education that can make them stand in the
competitive world of today.
State governments of all the states of India have now
started to come forward for helping students so that money does not be a
concern in the field of education. In this section, we will discuss about Bihar

The govt. of Bihar has now introduced an innovative scheme to
provide scholarship for college students
who belong to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), EBC and backward
classes through e Z-Pay card. Bihar is currently only the second state to
introduce this scheme, Andhra Pradesh was the first.
In the first phase of this scholarship scheme, 2.50 lakh
students will get this benefit and they are all provided with ATM card, which
is in agreement with the SBI. The monthly scholarship will be available in the
account of students from which they will be able to draw money by using their
ATM cards.
The scheme is Post metric and is further expected to be
available for school students also in the near future. The aim of the
scholarship scheme as told by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is that students
should continue their higher education and should not drop out due to financial
problems.
CM Nitish Kumar also advised the students to utilize this
money properly and not indulging any kind of fun or other activities with this
money.
